Funeral Readings
During the funeral liturgy there may be one or two readings, a responsorial psalm, and a reading from the Holy Gospel. The first reading comes from the Old Testament, except during the Easter Season, when it is taken from the New Testament. The second reading is from the New Testament.

Prayers of the Faithful
Prayers of the Faith, or sometimes called Petitions, are normally read by the Deacon, but if there is no Deacon, a family member or reader can read them.
