Dear Parishioners and Friends:

We have woken up this morning to the news that our Holy Father, Pope Francis, has passed away at the Vatican in Rome. Pope Francis served as a priest in the Jesuit religious order and he served the Church as Archbishop of Buenos Aires in Argentina and as Pope. We call the Pope the Holy Father because he is the father of the family of the Church. The Church now mourns his passing and we pray for the repose of his soul. We will publicly pray for the soul of the Holy Father but I also ask that we pray for him in our private prayers. Eternal Rest grant until him O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he and all the souls of faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace!
God Bless,
Father

And Jesus came and said to them, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, to the close of the age."
Matthew 28: 18-20 (RSV-CE)
